Management of the Club The Club is run by two committees, the Management Committee and the Golf and Social Committee. The Management Committee is responsible for running the business affairs of the Club including the bar, finance, licenses etc. The Golf and Social Committee runs the golf, including competitions, handicaps etc. and organises the entertainment events of the Club. Each Committee meets regularly and can therefore deal with any matters needing attention without undue delay. Communication The Secretary and Steward are your principal points of contact for Club affairs, but any Committee Member will be only too pleased to discuss relevant matters with you at appropriate times. However, we do ask that you respect that they too are often seeking the solace of a quiet drink or relaxation at the bar. Supply of Alcohol As a Private Members Club, we are issued with a Certificate of Registration from the local Magistrates to supply intoxicating liquor to members and their guests during stipulated hours. Before such a certificate is issued, the magistrates need to approve our Club’s Rules and must be satisfied that we will adhere to them at all times. It is important therefore, that you read the Club Rules and abide by them at all times. Etiquette We pride ourselves in being a Club that is available to all comers. The Club expects its Members and their guests to respect the “etiquette” synonymous with Golf Club Membership both in the Clubhouse and on the course. Bad language or behaviour likely to offend other members or their guests will not be tolerated. Club Rules must be strictly adhered to at all times. Dress Code Members are requested to dress appropriately for a golf club. Smart - casual is a minimum requirement and any clothing which could soil the fabric of the Club or be offensive to other members should not be worn. Golf shoes, hats or wet weather clothing are not to be worn in the bar at any time. The Club reserves the right to stipulate dress code as deemed necessary. Inviting Guests to the Club Members are permitted to introduce up to three guests into the Club at any time. All guests must be signed into the Visitors book (kept behind the bar) Entries must be signed and dated personally by the Member concerned who will be responsible for the conduct of their guests whilst in the Club. A levy of £1:00p for one guest and £1:00p for more than one guest is payable in the box provided. Attending Club with Partner Whilst partners are “Guests”, they are also 'Members by association' and therefore do not require signing in whilst in your company. Children Members’ children are generally welcome in the Club providing that they are properly supervised and are well behaved. However, the Club reserves the right to exclude children at certain times or from specific events as it sees fit. Use of the pool table is restricted to those children who can competently use the equipment without fear of damaging it. All children under twelve must be supervised by an adult when playing on the pool table. Adults wanting to use this facility take precedence after 9 pm on any evening. No children under 12 may use the dartboard without supervision. All children aged 12 and under must be accompanied to the toilets by an adult. Junior Members The Club has an active policy of encouraging the playing of golf by young people, with a separate section holding competitions and providing general support in developing golfing and social skills. Booking the Club for Parties As a Member, you may book the Clubhouse for a private party but not to the exclusion of other members. All bookings must be made on the appropriate form (obtainable from the Steward) and must be approved by the Secretary and the Steward. See notice board for full details.
